The Infinite Horizon re-imagines Homer’s The Odyssey after multiple prolonged American military campaigns in the Middle East. The six issue journey begins in December, 2007 from Image Comics.

The story centers on one unnamed man – The Captain. He’s a loyal soldier to his country, a cunning leader to his men, and a loving husband to his wife. All he wants to do it return home, but even after the war machine finally grinds to a halt, it will be many torturous years before he sees his wife again.

Breakdowns are one of the recurring themes in The Infinite Horizon. Communication, and infrastructure breakdowns. Societal and governmental collapses…these failures all contribute to the fractured and dangerous world of the graphic novel.

As the story begins America’s fortunes have turned as the country continually declines at home and its campaign in the Middle East crumbles. China ascends as the most powerful nation on the planet, absorbing Taiwan overnight. The sky falls as communication and military satellites tumble from orbit. The tip of the spear in China’s military advance is used to blind its enemies. All of them. Dawn brings a new day, and our hero begins his long, perilous journey home from war.
